  1. this is a preliminary beta release of the 5th edition of the T
  2. manual.
  3.  
  4. this directory contains all the source files required to remake a
  5. new T manual from scratch. however, this process also uses a program
  6. called "makeindex" only the sun-3 binary of which has been included
  7. here. i have intentionally included the .aux files and the .dvi file
  8. for those that dont want or need to go thru the trouble of remaking
  9. the manual.

  11. the file TODO contains a list of the things that have yet to be
  12. done. the major work yet to be done is getting all the parts of the
  13. manual to use the m4 macros consistently. the major formatting flaw in the
  14. current release is that not all the backquotes have come out
  15. properly.

  17. i welcome all/any comments that you may have on this release.
  18. i would prefer any fixes to be supplied in terms of "diff -c" output
  19. on the .x (the m4 sources) files; but i'll take fixes in any form!
